The forecast called for a small chance of rain. And even though, it was cool, damp and dreary. The smiles, hugs, and handshakes from family, friends, and former co-workers of Commander Dennis Mays warmed the atmosphere.
Jackson Police Chief, Julian Wiser, and Deputy Chief Barry Michaels posthumously dedicated the department's new helipad in honor of Commander Dennis Mays. "Commander Mays was a man of integrity and honor who was instrumental in the department having an Aviation Unit, said Deputy Chief Michael. "Dennis lead by example and deposited seeds of wisdom to anyone willing to receive and because of this, I have this amazing opportunity said Chief Wiser."
Commander Mays was an amazing individual who loved family. He was a husband, father, brother, friend, Veteran, Police Officer, Attorney, and Pilot to name a few.
In honor of twenty-seven years of loyal service to the Jackson Police Department, the Jackson Police Department dedicates this helipad in honor of Commander Dennis Mays.
