On Thursday, October 25, 2018, at approximately 5:21p.m., a private commuter bus turning southbound from Bunker Hill Lane onto Great America Parkway struck a bicyclist. The bicyclist was traveling in the designated bike lane. The result of the impact left the bicyclist with life-threatening injuries. He succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
Traffic cameras at the intersection were recording at the moment of impact and clearly show the bus failing to yield the right of way to the bicyclist.
At this time, the bicyclist is only being identified as a male, 49 years old, and a resident of Morgan Hill.
