Who: Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, Communications and Fleet Management Bureau personnel
What: The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department will be hosting its 44th Annual Law Enforcement Emergency Vehicle Evaluation and Product Expo Day. The event is used to address law enforcement’s vehicle operation requirements with respect to vehicle performance and safety. The tests will simulate various patrol functions and emergency operations that officers may experience in the field.
This year’s event will include vehicles from Fiat Chrysler, General Motors, Ford Motor Company, Harley-Davidson, BMW, Yamaha and Honda. There will also be an interactive Ride & Drive event hosted by top vehicle manufacturers, a product demonstration expo, high speed 32 lap course, and vehicle highlight seminars.
The Sheriff’s Department first implemented its police vehicle testing program in 1974. Since then, the Department has become nationally recognized as a major source of information for police vehicles and their use. After testing, the evaluation information is compiled into a book and provided to law enforcement agencies
