Here is the Castaic/ Val Verde (Zone 2) Public Safety & Crime Information Report for the week of October 8, 2018 to October 14, 2018:

Petty Theft- 28000 block of Bryce Drive               
The victim reported two cars parked in driveway were ransacked in the early morning hours.
     
10/11/18
Petty Theft- 30000 block of Yosemite Drive
The victim reported $5 in miscellaneous change was taken from vehicle in the early morning hours.

10/11/18
Grand Theft Auto- 30000 block of Yosemite Drive
The victim reported a silver 2018 Toyota Highlander SUV was stolen from their driveway in the early morning hours.

Petty Theft- 31000 block of Castaic Road
The victim reported items stolen from an unlocked vehicle including vehicle registration paperwork, pink slip, a “HP” laptop and a “Husky” tool bag containing miscellaneous tools.  The crime occurred in the early morning hours.

Petty Theft- 30000 block of Mayfair Avenue
The victim reported a vehicle was rummaged through sometime during the last week. The victim was unsure when the entry to their vehicle was made, and what if anything was missing. 
     
We want to remind residents of the #9PMRoutine which includes simple steps to take each night to secure your property, residence, and vehicles. Reduce your chances of becoming a victim of theft.

The #9PMRoutine includes the following steps:

1. Remove valuables (electronic devices, wallets, etc.) from your vehicle.
2. Ensure vehicle doors and trunks are locked.
3. Check that all house exterior doors and garages are locked.
4. Turn on exterior lights.
