On Monday, October 22, 2018, at approximately 9:46 pm, Malibu/Lost Hills received a “shots heard” call in the area of 3900 block of Ceanothus Place in Calabasas. Multiple patrol units responded and canvassed the area. After an extensive search, they were unable to locate or determine the source of the sound, and did not receive any rescue calls related to any injuries.
This morning, Tuesday, October 23, 2018, Malibu/Lost Hills personnel continued their effort to locate the source. Based on the camera angle capturing the sound of an explosion and a flash of light, it was determined that it appeared to be in the northeasterly direction from the location of the call.
Southern California Edison (SCE) and Las Virgenes Municipal Water District were contacted and are investigating for the source as well.
