Nature of Incident: Sheriff’s Office First Agency in State to Join Neighbors by Ring to Provide Users with Real-Time, Local Crime and Safety Information
Location: Countywide
Narrative:
Ventura, CA – October 22, 2018 – The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office today announced that is joining the Neighbors app (via iOS/Android here: https://download.ring.com/venturacountyso) to provide Ventura County residents with real-time, local crime and safety information. The Neighbors network already has millions of users and has been instrumental in catching package thieves, stopping burglaries, and keeping neighborhoods safe.

“The Neighbors app takes ‘see something; say something’ to the next level,” said Ventura County Sheriff Geoff Dean. “Our residents will be able to actively participate with us and Ring in keeping our neighborhoods safer.”

Jamie Siminoff, Chief Inventor and Founder of Ring, said: “Over the past few years we have learned that, when neighbors, the Ring team and law enforcement all work together, we can create safer communities. We’re excited to have the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office join Neighbors and applaud their leadership in utilizing this free and effective tool to engage residents with up-to-date local crime and safety information while maintaining neighbor privacy first and foremost.”
