Prescription drug take back events scheduled for October 27, 2018 at two Beaufort County locations.
According to a recent survey on drug use and health, approximately 6.4 million Americans abuse prescription drugs annually. The study showed that a majority of these prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, oftentimes from home medicine cabinets. To address prescription drug abuse locally, and as a result of a coordinated effort among the Beaufort County Alcohol and Drug Department, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and the Lowcountry Alliance for Healthy Youth, drug take back events have been scheduled for October 27, 2018 from 9:00 a.m. through 12:00 p.m. at two Beaufort County locations.
The prescription drug take back events will be held at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 80 Shanklin Road in Beaufort and at the Beaufort County Convenience Center, 104 Simmonsville Road in Bluffton. There will be no liquid medications, sharps, medical waste or inventory from medical practices accepted. Please see the attached flyer for additional details.
We appreciate your partnership and continued commitment to the safety of our community.
