Full Notification

                Detective Van Williams of the McDowell County Sheriff’s Office charged Jonathan Ray Register, 19, of 312 White St. in Morganton, with statutory sex offense with a child under 15 and taking indecent liberties with a child.
                Register is accused of having inappropriate sexual contact with an 11-year-old male acquaintance earlier this year.
                Relatives of the victim learned of the circumstances and notified the Sheriff’s Office.
