After receiving numerous complaints via the Simi Valley Police Department's "Narcotics Hotline", members of the Departments Special Operations Unit initiated an investigation of a residence at 1859 Sutter Ave, Simi Valley. The complaints were in regards to narcotics use at the residence by the homeowners themselves, as well as the homeowners allowing the residence to be used for narcotics use, and the actual sale of narcotics by individuals not actually residing at the residence. Surveillance of the residence was conducted, with the subsequent arrest of 7 individuals coming from this residence. On October 19, 2018 members of the Special Operations Unit served a search warrant on the residence and arrested 12 individuals from this residence. A neighbor, at 1847 Sutter was subsequently arrested for harboring three of these individuals who had fled 1859 Sutter and had sought refuge at the time the warrant was being served. The homeowners, Hap Vallelunga Sr. (53 yrs) and Hap Vallenlunga Jr. (28 yrs) were subsequently booked at the VCMJ for 11366 H&S/maintaining a place for controlled substance sale or use. Six adults in the residence were arrested for 11550 H&S/under the influence of a controlled substance, and three adults in the residence were arrested for outstanding warrants related to narcotics offenses. Additionally, due to numerous violations, the residence was "yellow tagged" by the Simi Valley Department of Building and Safety.
