Search warrant leads to the arrest of Albert Rivota of Adelanto for attempted murder

LOCATION: 16700 “A” Street, Victorville
SUSPECT(S): Albert Rivota, 25-year old Adelanto resident
VICTIM(S): Confidential, Hispanic Female Adult, 24-year-old, Resident of Victorville

SUMMARY:
**UPDATE: On October 17, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department served a warrant in the 16700 block of A Street, in Victorville. During the service of the warrant, deputies located Albert Rivota and took him into custody. Rivota was booked at High Desert Detention Center for the October 14, 2018, attempted murder of the female victim.

UPDATE: Investigators are asking anyone with information on the whereabouts of the suspect, identified as Albert Rivota, to contact Detective M. Gardea at (760) 241-2911 or Sheriff’s Dispatch at (760) 956-5001. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the We-Tip Hotline at 1-800-78-CRIME.

Rivota is a Hispanic male, 25-years old, 5’7” tall, approximately 140 lbs, with black hair, and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing blue shorts and no shirt.

On Sunday, October 14, 2018, at 7:26 p.m., Deputies from the Victorville Police Department were dispatched to a domestic disturbance call in the 16700 Block of “A” Street. When deputies arrived at the incident location they found the victim, a 24-year-old Hispanic female adult had been beaten and stabbed several times by her boyfriend after a verbal argument. A witness, a good Samaritan, witnessed the violent attack and helped the victim from being beaten and stabbed any further.

The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of the deputies. The investigators know who the suspect is. This is an ongoing criminal investigation and the suspect’s name is not being released at this time.

The victim was flown by air ambulance to a trauma center. She is currently in stable condition.
