SMPD Arrest Two in Stolen Vehicle, Possession of Stolen Property 
San Mateo Police arrest two in a stolen vehicle. The suspects were also found in possession of stolen property, burglary tools, and drugs.
On October 16, 2018, at around 9:30 p.m., a San Mateo Police Officer was patrolling the area of 9th Avenue and S. Claremont Street when he saw a silver 2015 Mazda CX-5 pass by, matching the description of a reported stolen vehicle from earlier in the morning. The officer provided our dispatchers with the Mazda’s license plate number, which they confirmed was reported stolen. The officer conducted a traffic stop of the Mazda at 7th Avenue and S. B Street as additional SMPD officers and K9 Hero arrived at the scene to assist. The driver of the vehicle, identified as 22-year-old Ronil Sharma, was safely taken into custody and the passenger, identified as 26-year-old Adriana Melchor, was detained.
After further investigation, officers were able to determine Melchor was a suspect in multiple investigations to include identity theft- use of stolen credit cards and a fraud case reported earlier in the month. Melchor was also arrested. Stolen property from previously reported auto burglaries in San Mateo was discovered inside the Mazda, along with burglary tools and suspected methamphetamine. Sharma and Melchor were consequently booked into county jail for various charges.

Charges: Conspiracy, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Identity Theft, Possession of Stolen Property, and Possession of a Controlled Stimulant.
