On October 15, 2018, Detectives from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office East County Street Narcotics Team concluded a narcotics sales investigation into Nestor Rodriguez out of El Rio, who was involved in the sales of cocaine to residents of Ventura County. On October 15, 2018, a deputy from the Headquarters Patrol Station conducted a traffic stop of Nestor as he was driving through El Rio. The patrol officer and detectives searched Nestor’s vehicle pursuant to a signed search warrant. During the search, detectives found a half pound of cocaine in the back seat. Nestor was arrested and transported to the Headquarters Station for processing. Following Nestor’s arrest, Narcotics Detectives executed a search warrant at Nestor’s residence located in the 800 block of Will Avenue in El Rio. Detectives located a significant amount of cocaine, a large amount of money believed to be narcotics sale proceeds, and paraphernalia indicative of illegal narcotic sales. Detectives also located numerous loaded firearms and rifles. During the course of the search, detectives determined an occupant of the residence Anthony Rodriguez was also in possession of a quantity of cocaine and several loaded and operable rifles, including an AK-47 assault rifle. Anthony was subsequently arrested for possessing cocaine, while in possession of loaded operable firearms. In all, detectives seized 3.2 pounds of cocaine or about 1451 grams, seven firearms and a significant amount of money believed to be proceeds from narcotics sales. The cocaine seized has an estimated street value of $116,000.00 to $145,000.00. Nestor and Anthony were both booked at the Pre-Trial Detention Facility on various narcotics and firearms charges. |
