Just after 9:00 p.m. on September 8, 2018, Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to an Adams Circle, Burton residence to a report of a burglary. Deputies met with the victims, who advised that a bald Caucasian male subject was observed inside their residence and, when discovered, fled on foot.

Deputies checked the area for the subject and discovered female clothing—later identified as belonging to the victims—leading away from the residence. Deputies also discovered shoe impressions in the dirt leading away from the victims’ residence to the neighboring Adams Circle home of 47-year-old Roy White—who matched the description of the fleeing subject provided by the victims.
 
Sheriff’s Office deputies made contact with Roy White at his residence and interviewed him about the burglary, which he denied any involvement. Although White was the person of interest, there was not enough to charge him at the time and the investigation continued.

In the weeks that followed the burglary incident, Sheriff's Office investigators interviewed the victims and other witnesses, as well as reviewed evidence collected from the scene. This morning, investigators met with a Beaufort County magistrate and presented the facts of the case. The magistrate found that probable cause existed and issued a warrant for Roy White’s arrest for Burglary 1^st Degree.
 
Late this morning, Sheriff’s Office deputies located Roy White at his Adams Circle residence and arrested him on the warrant without incident. White was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated on the Burglary 1^st Degree charge. White has yet to receive a bond hearing.
