Alert

Coastal Flood Advisory until 10:00AM Monday

The combination of water piled up from the swells generated by Hurricane Michael, moderate onshore flow, and continued high astronomical high tide levels will result in a continuation of minor coastal flooding through this weekend and into early next week. A strong cold front is expected to push offshore on Monday, which should end the persistent tidal overflow over South Texas beaches.

* COASTAL FLOODING...Tide and bay levels are expected to be between 2.0 and 2.8 feet above mean sea level through Monday morning. High tides at Port Aransas will occur at 922 PM Saturday and 1038 PM Sunday. High tides at Bob Hall Pier will be at 911 PM Saturday and 1028 PM Sunday. The next high tide at Port O'Connor will occur at 325 AM Sunday. Beaches at the Padre Island National Seashore will be closed until the waters recede.

* TIMING...Tonight through mid morning Monday.

* IMPACTS...Driving conditions may be adversely impacted, with some locations being closed or barricaded, allow no beach access. Some beach access roads will be impassible. Items along the beach should have already been removed due to the incoming wave runup.

* AFFECTED AREAS: COASTAL KLEBERG ... CALHOUN ISLANDS ... COASTAL REFUGIO ... COASTAL NUECES ... ARANSAS ISLANDS ... KLEBERG ISLANDS ... NUECES ISLANDS ... COASTAL CALHOUN ... COASTAL ARANSAS ... COASTAL SAN PATRICIO

Instructions:

A Coastal Flood Advisory indicates that onshore winds and tides will combine to generate flooding of low areas along the shore.
