He was booked into the Fresno County Jail. He is being charged with two counts of armed robbery, one count of attempted robbery. A parole hold was also issued by his parole agent. The investigation continues.
Press Release - Attempted Robbery
On Monday, October 1, 2018 at 6:31 PM, Corcoran officers were dispatched to the Subway Store located in the 1100 Blk. of Whitley Avenue, in Corcoran. Subway employees stated the suspect came into the store and demanded money. Witnesses said the suspect brandished what was believed to be the butt of a sawed off shotgun.
Corcoran Investigators were contacted by the Lemoore and Reedley Police Departments who had similar robberies which involved a subject matching the Subway crime. Corcoran PD, Lemoore PD and Reedley PD Investigators worked very quickly to identify and get the suspect in custody. Through investigation, the suspect was positively identified as 38 year old Daemond Young of Fresno. An arrest warrant from Kings County Superior Court was issued for Young. On Thursday October 11, 2018, with the assistance of the Central Valley Fugitive Apprehension Team, Young was arrested in the 700 Blk. of Waterman St. in Fresno without incident. |
