Hazardous Weather Discussion
A passing cold front and Tropical Storm Michael will bring rain and gusty winds to NJ Thursday into Friday. Heaviest rain is forecasted south of the Turnpike corridor, where 2-4” may fall. Areas north and west of may see 1” to 2”. Locally higher amounts are possible statewide where storms are heaviest. High winds are forecasted for Thursday night through Friday, with gusts over 40 mph possible in SE counties.

Heavy rain Thursday evening and overnight into Friday brings the potential for localized flooding in urban areas, roadways, locations with poor drainage, and creeks and streams. High winds overnight may result in downed power lines and trees. Secure outdoor furniture and objects where gusty winds are forecast overnight.
