Advisory

Damage from storm was minimal overnight. Some power outages and downed trees reported. Thank you for staying informed

Good Morning,

Damage overnight from Tropical Storm Michael was minimal in Beaufort County. Some power outages—approximately 9,000 customers—to include traffic lights, as well as between 15 and 20 downed trees were reported throughout the county.

Although conditions will improve throughout the day, we are still experiencing winds in our area. We ask residents and guests to exercise caution while driving—especially on bridges—and to avoid being under trees—loose limbs and branches.

In addition, high surf and rip current advisories remain in effect, so please stay out of the water until those dangerous conditions are no longer present.

We appreciate you staying informed during the storm and your continued commitment to the safety of our community.
