The Borough is pleased to announce that as of today we are now accepting electronic waste and scrap metal at the DPW garage. As many residents are aware, televisions, computer monitors and towers, and other electronic devices cannot be disposed of in regular or bulk trash. State and federal regulations mandate that these items be recycled. The Borough has partnered with a recycler who provides a 40 yard dumpster at our DPW yard where residents, during normal business hours, (6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Friday) may drop off electronics (any item with a plug or a battery) or scrap metal. Absolutely NO trash or curbside recyclables (furniture, construction waste, food waste, plastics, cardboard, paper, cans and bottles, etc...) will be accepted.

If assistance with unloading is required please call ahead to schedule a time when DPW personnel can be present, either by calling (908) 689-3600 option 6, then option 1, or dial direct (908) 689-0088. Please also call with any questions about what can or cannot be accepted. At this time, drop off will be limited to DPW hours-the container will closed all other times. The Borough, in conjunction with Green Team volunteers, does plan to offer Saturday drop-off periodically. Please monitor this page for details. In the meantime, please do not drop off items outside of the normal DPW hours listed above. Again, we are pleased to provide this service to residents and hope to further augment our recycling tonnage grant with the materials collected.
