Attempted Murder Suspect Arrested 
On October 5th, officers from the Southport Police Department and IMPD responded to Community South Hospital on the report of a person shot. Officers determined that the incident occurred in the 7900 block of Southfield Drive in Southport.
Detectives from the Southport Police Department responded and took over the investigation, with the dedicated assistance of the SOPD Emergency Response Team and Patrol Division. Early on, detectives were able to narrow down to one suspect, Paul Ternoir, who was arrested without incident for attempt murder, a level 1 felony and aggravated battery in the early morning hours of October 7th.
The victim was shot in the shoulder and was released from the hospital on October 7th.
The investigation is ongoing.
