**UPDATE**#LASD Homicide Detectives Continue their Investigation of a Shooting 5600 block of Everett Avenue, Maywood

Homicide investigators are continuing their investigation into the murder of a 54-year-old male Hispanic in the 5600 block of Everett Avenue in the city of Maywood.
 
On October 05, at approximately 2:20 AM, the victim and an acquaintance were walking on Everett Avenue on their way to the store when the suspect, a male Hispanic, 25-35 years old, approached them on a bicycle and started talking to the victim.  The conversation escalated to an argument at which time the suspect shot the victim multiple times with a handgun.  The suspect then rode away north on Everett Avenue and out of view. 
 
Deputies arrived on scene along with L.A. County fire and paramedics.  The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.  The acquaintance was not injured.    
 
The motive for the shooting is not known at this time.  The murder weapon has not been recovered.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to investigate the shooting death of a man. The incident occurred on Friday October 5, 2018, at approximately 2:22 a.m., on the 5600 block of Everett Avenue, Maywood.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.
