Temporary Water Service Shutdown in Manchester, NH, October 10th.
On Wednesday, October 10th, weather permitting, Manchester Water Works is planning on installing two large diameter valves on Cohas Ave in South Manchester. One will be near the intersection of Island Pond Road and the other just before Canal Road (near the Cohas Pump Station).
The work will require us to discontinue water service to all the homes and businesses between Island Pond and the Pump Station on Cohas Ave. and all the branch streets in between although most of Brickett Road will have water.
We will also need to bypass water from one pressure system into another in order to continue pumping into our two Mammoth Road tanks. This will cause an area from Lake Shore Road up along Island Pond Road to Industrial Drive to have reduced pressure. Those homeowners will have water but should notice the pressure drop. This area includes the branch streets along Island Pond Road. Industrial Drive will not be affected.
The work will begin first thing in the morning and if all goes as planned, should be completed by late afternoon.
If you have any questions concerning this, please do not hesitate to call the Manchester Water Works at 603-624-6494.
