Major Injury Traffic Collision on Central Road and Ottawa Road

INCIDENT: Major Injury Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Central Road and Ottawa Road, Town of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: On October 3, 2018, at about 7:59 pm, deputies from the Apple Valley Station responded to the intersection of Central Road and Ottawa Road for a two-vehicle traffic collision.
Through investigation, deputies determined that a gray 2007 Chevy Silverado pickup truck was driving north on Central Road. A white 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser was driving west on Ottawa Road. The PT Cruiser failed to yield to the Chevy causing the Chevy to broadside the PT Cruiser. The driver of the PT Cruiser, a 23-year-old female resident of Apple Valley, and her rear passenger, a 2-year-old female, suffered major injuries due to the collision. Both were transported to Antelope Valley Hospital by helicopter. The two occupants of the Chevy were not injured.
