Details: On Monday, October 1, 2018, at 6:16 pm, Corcoran Police Officers responded to the Corcoran Subway restaurant for a report of an attempted robbery. Officers arrived and learned an adult male entered the restaurant and brandished what appeared to be the butt of a sawed off shotgun in his waistband and demanded money from the cash register. At about the same time another employee and a customer entered the area of the restaurant. The other employee told the suspect to leave the store, at which point the suspect left without obtaining any money. The suspect fled the store prior to police arrival. The suspect is described as being an African American adult, with dark skin and a gap between his upper front teeth. He is approximately 6 feet tall with a thin build and was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and black sweatpants. If you were in the downtown area at this time and observed anyone matching this description, or if you have any information regarding this incident, you are encouraged to call Detective Chee at the Corcoran Police Department at (559) 992-5151.
A community member has committed a $1,000.00 reward for any person who provides information that leads to the arrest of the person responsible.
