Full Notification

On 10/02/2018 at approximately 1925 hours, Wilmington Police responded to the 200 Blk. N. Clayton Street regarding a Shot-Spotter alert. Upon arrival, officers located multiple shell casings in the area. A short time later, a victim arrived at St. Francis ER, driven by private vehicle, suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim, identified as Grayson Ewell (19 years old) of Wilmington, was later pronounced dead. Information received is that the victim was traveling in a vehicle northbound on N. Clayton Street when an unknown subject began firing at the vehicle, striking the victim. No other occupants in the vehicle were injured. The investigation is ongoing.
