FEMA Conducting Test of Emergency Alerts 
FEMA will be conducting a nationwide WEA test and EAS test on Wednesday, October 3rd to assess the readiness of the infrastructure for a national message and to identify areas of improvement. The test will occur locally at around 11:18 am with the EAS to follow about 2 minutes later. The WEA test will have a header that identifies it as a “Presidential Alert” and will include the following text: “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.”
