Community Alert: FEMA will test its National Wireless Emergency Alert System Tomorrow Morning

Tomorrow, Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 11:18 a.m. and 11:20 a.m. the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) will conduct a nationwide test of the National Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) System and Emergency Alert System (EAS).

The WEA test message will be sent to cellphones that are connected to participating wireless providers. The test message will have a header that reads “Presidential Alert” and a text that says: “THIS IS TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action needed.”
