Contrary to earlier claims on Social Media, an active shooter situation DOES NOT and DID NOT occur at a business on Rawsonville south of Bemis. The Sumpter Township Police Department did, however, receive a report of male armed with a shotgun walking with a dog down the railroad tracks in that area. We were unable to locate the individual although all indications and statements from the witness point to the individual being a hunter, as this time of the year is open season on certain small game and waterfowl.
