Advisory

Police activity in the Mission San Jose area has ended.

The suject was located in the crawl space of a residence on Anza Street and taken into custody at approximatley 11:00 a.m.  Most of our officers have cleared the scene and the shelter in place at Mission San Jose Elementary has been lifted.  We appreciate the assistance of our community and are glad the situation was quickly resolved.

Original Message:
Officers are currently forming a search team to look for a suject with an active warrant who fled on foot from officers in the area of Jerome and Anza St in our Mission San Jose area.  It's believed he jumped a couple of fences and may be hiding.  A CHP helicopter is en-route to the scene and a police drone is being utilized.

For residents living in the area, the subject is described as a Hispanic male, 6'1", 230 lbs., possibly wearing a white long sleeve jersey, black shorts and white socks/shoes.

Mission San Jose Elementary School has been placed on a precautionary shelter in place and we have School Resource Officers en-route to the campus.  A perimeter was established very quickly and we have no reason to believe the subject made it to that location.

We have several officers in the area. While the neighborhood has not been placed on a shelter in place, residents are advised to call 911 if they see anything suspicious and not contact the subject directly.
