Officers apprehend five suspects for residential burglary

On Friday September 28, at 12:17 PM, Los Altos Police officers responded to a report of a residential burglary in progress in the 200 bock of Galli Drive. An alert resident dialed 9-1-1 upon observing several suspects attempting to force entry into a neighbors' home.

The caller provided dispatchers with a description of the suspects and an associated vehicle. The first officers arrived on scene within two minutes and observed the suspects’ vehicle fleeing the area. A second officer arrived shortly after and observed one suspect fleeing on foot. The officer chased the suspect into a nearby yard, where the suspect scaled a fence.

Officers following the suspect vehicle soon learned it was stolen and a short vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect vehicle collided with a tree at the intersection of San Antonio Road and West Edith Avenue. The solo occupant of the vehicle was taken into custody without incident. There were no injuries as a result of the collision.

At about 12:37 PM three additional suspects were located in a rear yard on Angela Drive. Those suspects were taken into custody without incident.

With assistance from Mountain View Police and the Santa Clara County Sheriff’s Department, officers coordinated a search of the area and found the final suspect secluded in a rear yard, located in the 100 block of E. Edith Avenue. That suspect was taken into custody without incident.

All five suspects were identified as juveniles. As such, no further suspect information will be released.
