Full Notification

At approximately 9:30 pm on September 29, 2018, OSBI assistance was requested by the Okmulgee County Sheriff’s Office with a fatal officer involved shooting. The shooting came as a result of an attempted motorcycle traffic stop and a brief chase. The decedent was identified as Beggs resident Justin Snelson, a white male, date of birth 11/8/1963. Snelson was pronounced dead at the scene. The case is still under investigation and more details will be released as they become available. The name of the officer involved is not being released by OSBI at this time.
