"See Something, Say Something" Helps Catch Three Suspected Burglars
On 9/29/18 at 3:40 am, ESPD received the call of someone possibly tampering with a car in the 400 block of W. Walnut Ave. Officers searched the area and contacted a man sitting in a car. There was another man and a woman standing next to the vehicle with a bicycle. During the investigation, officers found a padlock that had been cut and miscellaneous hand tools, including a pair of bolt cutters, inside of the car. Officers believe the bicycle had been stolen.
Jesus Gomez (26) from Lawndale, Stephanie Kurtz (38) from Gardena, and Vincent McGruder (28) from Torrance were arrested on the suspicion of burglary and possession of burglary tools. The suspects were driving a grey 1998 Mazda Protégé (CA license#: 5BQZ791).
