Apple Valley Station Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) investigates fatal traffic collision

INCIDENT: Fatal Traffic Collision
LOCATION: Bear Valley Road west of Kiowa Road, Town of Apple Valley
VICTIM: Male, name withheld pending next of kin notification
SUMMARY: On September 29, 2018, around 1:16 am, a G&M Towing tow truck was driving west on Bear Valley Road. Through preliminary investigation, a male riding a black Vespa Scooter rode across Bear Valley Road into the westbound lanes and into the path of the tow truck causing the vehicles to collide. The male on the scooter is believed to have died on impact with the tow truck. The tow truck driver remained at the scene.
