Red Flag Warning until 08:00PM Saturday
Increasing southwest flow will bring breezy to windy conditions to much of northeast Utah and northwest Colorado Saturday. Wind gusts in excess of 30 mph combined with relative humidity values below 15 percent and dry vegetation will result in critical fire weather conditions late Saturday morning through early Saturday evening. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM MDT Saturday.
* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area.
* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 15 mph with gusts up to 30 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...12 to 17 percent.
* IMPACTS...Rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible under these conditions.
* AFFECTED AREAS: PARADOX VALLEY
Instructions:
A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
