Advisory

Warren County Mosquito Spraying-- Sept. 27, 2018

The Warren County Mosquito Control Commission is planning to perform a limited, targeted adult mosquito treatment on Thursday night, September 27, 2018 between 7:00 pm and 11:30 pm, weather permitting.

The following areas in Knowlton Township will be targeted: Vail Road, Kill Road, and Station Road

An adult mosquito insecticide will be sprayed by Ultra-low volume (ULV) truck-mounted sprayer between 7:30 pm and 11:30 pm. The product being applied is: Zenivex E4 (EPA Reg # 2724-807) Active Ingredient Etofenprox .

Trucks are clearly marked as mosquito control vehicles. Applications are limited and targeted to areas of high populations of nuisance and West Nile virus positive mosquitoes. Due to the ultra-low volume technology, residential exposure is very low. If residents prefer to stay inside and close windows and doors when spraying takes place they can, out of an abundance of precaution, but it is not necessary. The spray does not harm pets, but residents may choose to bring them inside while the spraying occurs.

Residents can call the Warren County Mosquito Commission with questions at: (908) 453-3585
