SUMMARY:
On Sunday, September 23, 2018, at 8:52am, Deputy Montenegro responded to the report of a vandalism at Desert Streams Baptist Church.
When the pastor of the church arrived in the morning, he found the words “Beware” and “Repent” written on the church doors in red lipstick. Deputy Montenegro checked the neighborhoods surrounding the church and found additional graffiti with the same words written on several walls. After a thorough investigation, Deputy Montenegro identified the suspect as Katrina Stewart. Stewart was located and still in possession of the lipstick used to affix the graffiti.
Katrina Stewart was arrested and booked for vandalism at a place of worship. She was booked at High Desert Detention Center in lieu of $50,000.00 bail. On Monday, September 24, 2018, felony charges were filed by the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s Office.
