Hanford Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Appreciation

On September 21st Corporal Trent Augustus was recognized for his outstanding service to the Corcoran community during the Hanford Chamber of Commerce’s 22nd Annual Public Safety Appreciation Luncheon. Corporal Augustus graduated from Lemoore High School in 2001 and then attended West Hills College where he received his Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certificate. He then began his career in public service as an EMT and volunteer firefighter with Kings County Fire Department. Augustus began his career with the Corcoran Police Department approximately 13 years ago and he consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty. During his tenure with the department he has performed lifesaving CPR, delivered a baby and pulled individuals from a vehicle submerged in a canal. He also recently completed 5 years of service as the Corcoran Police Department's School Resource Officer where he was instrumental in helping organize two “Every 15 Minutes” programs. Corporal Augustus also serves the department as a firearms range master, field training officer and a recruit training officer at the Tulare-Kings Police Academy.
