The National Weather Service in BLACKSBURG has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
Giles County in southwestern Virginia...
Southeastern Greenbrier County in southeastern West Virginia...
Monroe County in southeastern West Virginia...

* Until 300 AM EDT

* At 1159 PM EDT, Emergency Management has reported significant
flooding in all three counties from the Rich Creek, Peterstown,
Lindside, and White Sulphur Springs areas. Several roads have been
flooded and could remain so for several more hours from flooded
creeks, streams, and excessive runoff water. Even thought

completely saturated from repeated heavy rainfall in recent weeks.
Also be aware, that mudslides and rock slides have been reported
along several roads in this area, including U.S. 219 and WV 92.

* This Flood Warning replaces a Flash Flood Warning that expires at
1215 AM EDT Sunday morning.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
White Sulphur Springs
Narrows...
Ronceverte...
Rich Creek...
Lindside...
and Peterstown.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather Service
by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports and
pictures can also be shared on the National Weather Service
Blacksburg Facebook page and on Twitter.
