Deputies arrest the suspect, Kenneth Bryant, seen yielding a machete during the robbery of a Food 4 Less

LOCATION: 14700 block of La Paz Drive, Victorville

SUSPECT(S): #1-Kenneth Bryant, 23-year old Victorville resident
#2-Unknown Hispanic female adult
#3-Unknown Hispanic or black male adult

UPDATE: On September 20, at approximately 5:00 pm, Deputy F. Trujillo, with the Victorville Police Department’s, Gang Unit and Officer C. Yosten, with San Bernardino County Probation Department, arrested Kenneth Bryant for the March 12, 2018 robbery at Food 4 Less. Bryant was identified as the suspect with the machete by multiple citizens who saw the press release and video and contacted law enforcement.

Bryant was booked at High Desert Detention Center for robbery, an outstanding warrant, and violation of probation.

The other two suspects are still at large and the investigation is continuing.

SUMMARY: On March 12, 2018, deputies from the Victorville Police Department responded to a robbery call at Food 4 Less on La Paz Drive.

Two unidentified males and an unidentified female loaded unpaid merchandise into a shopping cart. Without paying for the merchandise, they began to exit the store. A security guard requested their receipt and one of the males removed a machete from his shorts. The guard was struck in the hand when the male stepped toward him and swung the machete in his direction. He suffered a laceration to his hand as a result.

The three suspects remain at large. Suspect #1 was described as a black male, approximately 25-years old, 5’10” tall, with a black afro. Suspect #2 was described as a Hispanic female, approximately 5’4” tall, with dark shoulder length hair. Suspect #3 was described as a Hispanic or black male adult.

Detectives have obtained and are releasing video footage of the incident. Anyone with information about this investigation or the identity of the suspects is asked to contact Detective S.
