Justin Seno, 38, arrested Thursday, after DNA analysis links him to three Sheldon area burglaries.

This past winter and spring, multiple commercial and residential burglaries were reported in the Sheldon area. Evidentiary items from the burglary scenes were processed and submitted to the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Laboratory for DNA analysis. While the evidence was being analyzed at the laboratory, a person of interest—38-year-old Justin Seno of Sheldon—was developed in the string of burglaries.

In June 2018, after Justin Seno’s DNA profile matched evidence collected from the scene of one of the burglaries—Sheldon Comprehensive Health—Sheriff’s Office investigators obtained a warrant for burglary and arrested Seno. Seno was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center and incarcerated for the burglary charge. Seno was released on bond August 22, 2018.

On August 25, 2018—just days after Seno’s release—a residential burglary was reported on Paige Point Landing in Sheldon. Investigators collected evidence from the scene and submitted those items to the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Laboratory for DNA analysis. Earlier this week, DNA analysts reported that evidence found at the Paige Point burglary scene matched Justin Seno. Also this week, DNA analysts reported that Seno had matched evidence found at two other Sheldon area burglaries: the April 2018 Dean Electric and the May 2018 Brays Island maintenance barn burglaries.

After receiving the reports from DNA analysts at the Sheriff’s Office Forensic Services Laboratory, investigators presented the facts of the three burglary investigations to a Beaufort County magistrate. After hearing the facts of the cases, the magistrate issued three warrants for Burglary 2nd Degree for the arrest of Justin Seno. Yesterday, Seno turned himself in to investigators at the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office Law Enforcement Center in Beaufort, where he was arrested and charged for the three burglary warrants.

Seno was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center without incident. Seno’s bonds were set at $20,000 for each of the three burglaries—$60,000 total. As a court ordered condition of his bond, Seno will be subjected to electronic monitoring should he be released.

Anyone with information on the Sheldon area burglaries is encouraged to contact Sergeant Todd Duncan at 843-255-3418 or Crimestoppers 1-888-CrimeSC if wishing to remain anonymous and for possible reward.
