On Thursday September 6th, at approximately 4:40 a.m. a Millstadt Officer was conducting a routine business check of the Millstadt Pharmacy, located at 120 West Washington Street. Upon checking the building, the officer discovered forced entry into the back of the business. While clearing the building, he found evidence of a burglary, and secured the scene. The Illinois State Police Crime Scene Unit was called to process the scene.
Upon further investigation it was revealed the alarm had been tampered with, although an audible alarm sounded for a short time. It was discovered a significant amount of narcotics had been stolen. At this time a complete inventory of what and how much was taken is unavailable. Police are still viewing video surveillance, although it appears a suspect enters the business shortly after 3:30 a.m. The surveillance also shows two suspects around the business around 1:00 a.m.
