*2nd UPDATE* #LASD Homicide Detectives Continue to Assist El Monte PD With Stabbing Death

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau Detectives are continuing to assist El Monte Police Department in their investigation into the stabbing death of a male Asian adult that occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2018, at 12:29 p.m., on the 10500 block of Lower Azusa Road, El Monte. 
 
The suspect, who was detained at the time of the incident, 39 year-old, Loi Tran has been arrested for the murder of the victim.  He is being held without bail. 
 
The suspect and victim were brothers-in-law. The victim was married to the suspect’s sister.  The victim and suspect were involved in an ongoing family dispute. 
 
The investigation is ongoing and there is no further information available.

Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau detectives are assisting the El Monte Police Department with the homicide of a male adult which occurred on September 16, 2018 at approximately 12:29 p.m. on the 10500 block of Lower Azusa Rd., El Monte.

Officers from the El Monte Police Department responded to the location regarding an assault with a deadly weapon call.  Upon their arrival, they located the victim who sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper torso. 

He was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A male adult was located and detained without incident at the location, who may have been involved in the crime.

The weapon was recovered at the scene and there are no outstanding suspects.

The suspect and victim are related, however their relationship to one another is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information at this time.

NARRATIVE:
Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives are responding to assist El Monte Police Department with a stabbing investigation.  The incident occurred on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at approximately 12:30 p.m.   

The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced dead.

A suspect was detained pending further investigation.

The investigation is ongoing and there is no additional information available at this time.
