Joint training exercise to take place at Washington Hospital on Tuesday 9/18/18 from 6:00 a.m. to early afternoon.

On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, from approximately 6:00 a.m. to the early afternoon, the City of Fremont’s Police and Fire Departments will conduct a joint training exercise at the Washington Township Hospital.

The training will involve a large number of police and fire personnel at the hospital campus. You may see public safety vehicles parked with emergency lights flashing throughout the course of the training. There will be no use of sirens or live ammunitions during the training.

The purpose of this training is to evaluate the police, fire, and hospital response related to an active shooter event.  This training will also provide an opportunity for the public safety agencies and the hospital to work together in an attempt to identify operational gaps. This partnership is of great benefit to those we serve and is a core component of our mission to provide the highest level of public safety to our community. Services provided by the Washington Township Hospital are not being affected.

Please contact Public Affairs Manager Geneva Bosques with the Fremont Police Department if you have any questions.  She can be reached at (510) 790-6957 or [email protected].
