Hit & Run Collisions Result in DUI Arrest

On September 16, at approximately 1827 hrs, the Simi Valley Police Department Communications Center received multiple phone calls regarding a subject who was possibly driving a vehicle while under the influence. The callers reported the vehicle was driving erratically and had crashed into several fixed objects, including a bus stop sign, mailboxes and trash cans in the area of Royal and Sinaloa. The vehicle did not stop after the collisions, prompting more calls into SVPD Dispatch.

Officers responded to the area and located the vehicle and driver on El Monte Drive near El Lado Drive and conducted a traffic stop. Officers checked the driver, identified as Aaron Neary, 25 years old, from Simi Valley, and found him to be under the influence of alcohol. Neary provided a breath sample and blew.17%, which is more than double the legal limit of .08%.

Neary, who plays for the Los Angeles Rams, was arrested and booked at the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office, East County Jail for:
