UPDATE: Arrests Made in String of Vandalism Cases

In a joint investigation by the Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office, Rutherfordton Police Department, Spindale Police Department, and the Forest City Police Department, four individuals have been charged in connection with a rash of vandalism that occurred throughout Rutherford County on the weekends of September 7th and September 14th, 2018.  
 
The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office received a total of 17 vandalism reports caused by paintballs or BBs.
The Rutherfordton Police Department received a total of 23 vandalism reports caused by paintballs or BBs.
The Spindale Police Department received a total of 29 vandalism reports caused by paintballs or BBs.
The Forest City Police Department received a total of 5 vandalism reports paintballs or BBs.
 
The total of damage incurred is estimated at $31,000.00
 
The following four individuals have each been charged with 73 counts of injury to personal property and 2 counts of injury to real property.
 
Chance Scott Doggett, 18 years old, from Rutherfordton, NC
 
Jaydakis Kashaune Hamilton, 17 years old, from Rutherfordton, NC
 
Dalandus Deandre Card, 17 years old, from Spindale, NC
 
Hezekiah David Goode, 16 years old, from Rutherfordton, NC

Detectives with the Rutherford County Sheriff's Office, Rutherfordton Police Department, Forest City Police Department and Spindale Police Department are requesting the public's assistance regarding a string vandalism that occurred September 7th through 9th, 2018.

Law enforcement received numerous reports citing damage to vehicles and businesses from the impact of paint balls and air soft pellets. These acts of vandalism were spread throughout the cities of Rutherfordton, Forest City, Spindale and into Rutherford County. No personal injury was reported.

A majority of the incidents occurred late Saturday night into Sunday morning.
