An alert will be sent to all compatible cell phones nationwide October 3, 2018, at 1:18 p.m. as a test of the Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) System. The message will be titled "Presidential Alert" and will say “THIS IS A TEST of the National Wireless Emergency Alert System. No action is needed.” A test of the Emergency Alert System, which will include a reference to the WEA test, is also planned for September 20, starting at 1:20 p.m. Visit FEMA’s website at https://www.fema.gov/emergency-alert-test for more details about this national test.
