NHC's projected path of Hurricane Florence 2:00 p.m. Governor McMaster to hold press conference at 2:30 p.m.

The National Hurricane Center (NHC) released its a 2:00 p.m. update on the projected path of Hurricane Florence. The NHC advises that Hurricane Florence is moving northwest at 10 miles per hour with maximum sustained winds of 105 miles per hour. 

Please continue to stay up-to-date on Hurricane Florence through official sources. Beaufort County's residents and guests, especially those located in low-lying areas, are encouraged to plan ahead for any potential impacts from the storm.

Beaufort County is not under an evacuation order, all bridges open and there are no current restrictions on driving. We remain prepared and resources are standing by for rapid deployment in the event of a storm impact. The Sheriff's Office, along with state and municipal governments will continue to keep you advised of developments with Hurricane Florence.

South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster will hold a press conference today at 2:30 p.m. to address the public on Hurricane Florence. We encourage Beaufort County residents and guests to watch the governor's press conference.

Sheriff P.J. Tanner will not hold a press conference today. Should a press conference be scheduled, you will be advised in advance and provided with links to watch it through Sheriff's Office Facebook Live, the County Channel and YouTube. In addition, when press conferences are held, media—newspaper, television and radio—are asked to attend and broadcast.

Your safety is of paramount importance, we recommend that you remain vigilant and monitor the storm's projected path through the National Hurricane Center
