..RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THROUGH 9 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 201, 202, 203, 205, 290 AND 292, AS WELL AS UTAH FIRE WEATHER ZONES 485, 486, 487, 490 AND 491... ...RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 10 AM THROUGH 9 PM MDT THURSDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 201, 202, 203, 205, 290, 292 AND 293, AS WELL AS UTAH FIRE WEATHER ZONES 485, 486, 487, 490 AND 491... .Dry and breezy conditions will continue today with critical fire weather conditions across portions of northeast and east-central Utah and northwest Colorado. Southwest winds will increase Wednesday and Thursday with critical fire weather conditions becoming more widespread to include all of eastern Utah as well as northwest and west-central Colorado north of the San Juan mountains. The forecast area will remain sandwiched between a low pressure trough over the Pacific Northwest and a ridge of high pressure over Texas potentially through the weekend, leading to deep mixing of stronger winds aloft each afternoon. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 10 AM to 9 PM MDT Thursday. A Red Flag Warning also remains in effect from 10 AM to 9 PM MDT Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 201 Routt Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River Headwaters and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area. In Utah, Fire Weather Zone 491 Southeast Utah.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 40 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...7 to 12 percent.

* IMPACTS...Rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible under these conditions.
