Please continue to monitor the path of Hurricane Florence through the National Hurricane Center https://www.nhc.noaa.gov

The evacuation order goes into effect at 12:00 p.m. today and is still in place. If lane reversals on U.S. 278 and U.S. 21 become necessary to ease the traffic flow in evacuation, local traffic will be affected. Traffic cameras are being monitored and law enforcement are at traffic points on those two roads to assist in that determination.

As of this time, lane reversals on U.S. 278 and U.S. 21 have not been implemented and do not appear imminent. Bridges to access Beaufort County's barrier islands are not closed and no decision on a curfew has been made.

We appreciate you following official sources for updates on Hurricane Florence.
