..RED FLAG WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM THROUGH 8 PM MDT WEDNESDAY FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 201, 202, 203, 205 AND 290, AS WELL AS UTAH FIRE WEATHER ZONES 485, 486, 487 AND 490...... ...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM LATE THURSDAY MORNING THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING FOR GUSTY WINDS, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY AND DRY FUELS FOR COLORADO FIRE WEATHER ZONES 200, 202 AND 203, AS WELL AS UTAH FIRE WEATHER ZONES 485, 486, 487 AND 490... .Southwest winds will increase across portions of northeast and east-central Utah and northwest Colorado on Tuesday and expand in coverage and intensity by Wednesday and Thursday as the area remains sandwiched between a low pressure trough over the Pacific Northwest and a ridge of high pressure over Texas. This will lead to stronger winds aloft mixing to the surface with dry conditions, leading to critical fire weather concerns for much of the central and northern half of the region. The National Weather Service in Grand Junction has issued a Red Flag Warning for gusty winds, low relative humidity and dry fuels, which is in effect from 11 AM to 8 PM MDT Wednesday.

* AFFECTED AREA...In Colorado, Fire Weather Zone 201 Routt Forecast Area, Fire Weather Zone 205 Colorado River Headwaters and Fire Weather Zone 290 Paradox Valley Forecast Area.

* WINDS...Southwest 15 to 25 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...10 to 15 percent.

* IMPACTS...Rapid rates of fire growth and spread are possible under these conditions.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ROUTT ... COLORADO RIVER HEADWATERS ... PARADOX VALLEY
