SAFE SURRENDER event - Stop Running, Start Living Again. Sept. 28th from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Lighthouse Church, 1248 Rte 9 S, CMCH

On September 28th, 2018 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. the Lighthouse Church located at 1248 Route  9 South, Cape May Court House, NJ will be the host of the "SAFE SURRENDER" event.

The Stop Running and Start Living Again campaign will allow individuals with outstanding warrants to turn themselves in with no threat of arrest.

The safe surrender program does not provide amnesty.  However, it allows individuals to work with both Municipal and Superior Court judges and staff to resolve outstanding warrants.  Most often the details of the resolutions are more favorable than the normal outcome of a traditional arrest on an outstanding warrant.

This is the first that all of Cape May County courts are combining their safe surrender efforts together.  This combined effort allows individuals who have outstanding warrants in both Municipal and Superior Courts to work out a joint resolution.  This also benefits individuals who have outstanding warrants in multiple county municipalities but none from Superior Court.  Judges will be available from Lower Township, Middle Township, Wildwood, West Wildwood, and Woodbine.

This Cape May Court House event will allow most warrants out of Atlantic and Cape May Counties to be rectified.  Proof of attendance will be issued to all surrendering individuals.

There will be local advocate groups on site to assist with issues with housing and substance abuse.  There will also be aid for Veteran's and legal assistance.

The safe surrender event goal is to allow individuals with outstanding warrant(s) to resolve some of their problems and remove their wanted status.

Please share this information with anyone that could possibly benefit from this program or that knows someone that could.
